Common Visa Types
Temporary Visitor
For tourism, business, or visiting friends. Usually 90 days. Many nationalities qualify for visa-free entry.
Working Visa
For employment in Japan. Requires a sponsoring employer and COE. Processing takes several weeks.
Student Visa
For long-term study at Japanese schools or universities. Requires proof of enrollment and financial support.
Transit Visa
Required if leaving the airport transit area. Some nationalities need it even for short layovers.
